Number, please

Come on, baby, hold the phone, yeah

This is Little Jerry.

Little Jerry is a forgotten music legend.

His band, Little Jerry and the Monotones, has got to be one of the most underrated acts of the 20th Century. Songs like “Telephone Rock” and “Mad!” are ’70s pop gems. “With Every Beat of My Heart” was rewritten for the big screen. Big Jeffy, Chrissy and Rockin’ Richard… harmonic geniuses.

What does Little Jerry have to do with this blog?

Nothing, really (not that that has ever stopped me before). But when I tried to upload a picture tonight, I clicked this file (which must have come from Muppet Wiki; give ’em a click, there’s good stuff there) by accident. So, rather than waste it…

But wait. Why do you have a picture of Little Jerry on your computer? That’s a very good question, with a fascinating answer, I’m sure.

(Kids, Little Jerry was a Muppet from Sesame Street, before they handed the entire show over to that little red guy with the squeaky voice. As for what a “telephone booth” is… look that one up yourself.)
