Ludlowe Baseball: Ludlowe Falls At Home To Law

Ludlowe fell to Jonathan Law at home on Saturday afternoon by a score of 6-4.

Ludlowe fell behind early again, 2-0 and trailed by that score after one. Law tacked on another run in the second but then Ludlowe chipped back and got a run back in the third.

Peter Cross threw three innings for Ludlowe allowing 3 runs.

Tim Moran then relived Cross and also allowed 3 runs in 3 innings. In the 5th inning, Law loaded the bases on a walk, hit and error with nobody out. Then Moran struck out the next to hitters and looked as though he would get out of the inning without any harm done. Then the next batter hit a soft  single to center field on a  3-2 pich that allowed to more runs to score, making the score 5-1 Law.

Ludlowe fought back in the bottom of the inning, thanks to some nice hitting and also some help by Law, as they committed an error on a popup at third base that was dropped. One big hit was a two run single by pinch hitter Victor D’Ascenzo.  After five, Law lead 5-4

Law got a run back in the 6th and lead 6-4 after 6.

D’Ascenzo relived Moran and threw a scoreless top of the 7th.

In the bottom of the inning, Ludlowe showed life when number nine hitter, Mikey Arman let off with a single, he was erased on a double play by the next batter, Charlie Meder. The Falcons were up to their last out and D’Ascenzo flew out to right to end the game.

Ludlowe dropped to 2-1 on the season. They play next at home on Monday vs Greenwich.
