Ludlowe Baseball: Ludlowe Loses Wild Road Battle To Ridgefield

Ludlowe lost a wild game to Ridgefield by a score of 14-11.

Three Ludlowe pitchers allowed 14 runs on 21 hits.

Defensively, Ludlowe committed 4 errors. 3 of the errors came with 2 out and extended the innings for the Tigers to keep the offense going.

A bright spot for the Falcons was their offense as they scored 11 runs. Mike Poudrier collected 3 hits  but was robbed of a fourth hit that would have likely been for extra bases leading off the 7th inning when the Ridgefield 3rd baseman made a diving snag down the 3rd base line. Mikey Arman was on base 4 times,  with 2 walks, 1 hit and he reached on an error.

Offensively Ridgefield had two big innings that hurt the Falcons by scoring 6 runs in the 1st and 3rd innings.

Ludlowe battled back and fought hard with their best offensive day of the season. Unfortunately, it wasn’t good enough as Ridgefield’s offense was better and was also helped by Ludlowe’s poor defense.

Ludlowe is still alive for a FCIAC playoff berth and control their own destiny, needing to win their final 3 games. The Falcons dropped to 9-8 overall, 8-7 in the FCIAC.

They play next on Monday at home vs Brien McMahon.

Monday is the final regular season home game for the Falcons, meaning that it is “Senior Day”.  The three seniors will be honored so come out and show your support.
