Boys Soccer: Prep Edges Ludlowe In A Great Game

Prep soccer beat Ludlowe 1-0 in a game that was much closer than most anticipated.

It was a great game played by both teams. The atmosphere was great, especially for an early start time on a weekday. You don’t often get a state tournament game between 2 rival schools so that made the atmosphere even better.

At halftime, neither team could gain an edge and the game remained scoreless. Both goalies were playing exceptional, Ryan Arrigo for Ludlowe and Will Steiner for Prep.

The second half was much of the same until Freshman Chris Molina broke the tie with a goal that just got by the lunging Arrigo.

Ludlowe could not get an equalizer and Prep would come away victorious.

Prep advances to the 2nd round of the CIAC State Tournament and will take on the winner of Hall v. New Milford on Monday at 2pm at Alumni Field at Fairfield University.

For Ludlowe, their season comes to a disappointing end but it was a great season and they should all be proud of their efforts throughout the season and especially today.
