Ludlowe Basketball: Ludlowe Guts Out An Opening Night Win Against Trumbull

|

Ludlowe Boys Basketball gutted out an ugly 30-25 win over Trumbull on Wednesday night.
It was a good start to the season with a win, but Ludlowe knows they have a lot of work to do.

Ludlowe did not shoot the ball well from the field, especially in the first half. The Falcons were awful from the line for the entire game. From the foul line, Ludlowe was 8-19 for the game.

After one quarter Ludlowe trailed 8-5 and the deficit increase with Ludlowe trailing 16-10 at the half.

Although not great, the second half was a complete turnaround for the Falcons by outscoring Trumbull 20-9.

It was a good defensive effort throughout the game for Ludlowe. Offensively the shots just were not falling. The Falcons were able to keep their composure even when struggling thanks to great senior leadership.

Ludlowe closed the game on a 16-3 run.

Ludlowe was led by Connor Peterson, who scored 13 points and Patrick Gutierrez, who had 8 points.

There was a great, loud but respectful student section that helped in the win as well.

Ludlowe will look to improve to 2-0 when they travel to Trumbull to take on St. Joe’s Friday night at 7pm.

In sub-varsity action, Ludlowe Freshman dropped a tough one and Ludlowe Junior Varsity won by one, 51-50 in overtime.
