Ludlowe Basketball: Ludlowe Falls To St. Joseph’s Despite Late Rally

Ludlowe fell to St. Joe’s 59-51 on Monday night.

The first quarter was back and forth but the Cadets were able to grab a 13-11 lead after one.

Steve Hashemi for St. Joes was the leading scorer after one, with 6 points.

St. Joes was able to take control in the second quarter, outscoring Ludlowe 15-5 in the quarter and led 28-16 at the half.

It the third quarter, Ludlowe was able to chip away, led by Mark Malone who scored 7 of his team high 15 points in the third quarter. Ludlowe was able to turn up the pressure and get steals that turned into easy baskets. After three, St. Joe’s led 37-30.

The fourth quarter was pretty even, with St. Joe’s outscoring Ludlowe 22-21 in the quarter. St. Joe’s was able to get some easy buckets in transitions as Ludlowe was not able to get back after putting pressure in the back court.

For St. Joe’s, Quincy McNight finished with 19 points, including 9 in the fourth quarter.

Ludlowe (1-1) will look to rebound tomorrow night when they come home to play Wilton at 7pm.
