Prep beat Ludlowe 65-35 in the second game of the first round of the Fairfield Prep Holiday Classic.
Prep will play Notre Dame, who beat Warde in the first game, in the championship Friday night at 8pm at Alumni Hall. The consolation game between Ludlowe and Warde will be played prior, at 6pm.
It was a close game at halftime. Prep had a 29-21 lead at the break.
In the second half Prep just outplayed Ludlowe. Prep outscored Ludlowe 20-7 in the third quarter and 16-7 in the fourth quarter.
The big men for Prep played well offensively. Tim Butala had 15 points to lead all scorers and seven footer Pascal Chukwu had 14 but did much more than score. Chukwu was able to block multiple shots, and those that he did not block he altered due to his size.
Stephen Scholz was the leading scorer for the Falcons with 12 points in the defeat.
Prep improves to 5-0 with the win and Ludlowe drops to 2-3 with the loss.
