Ludlowe normally wins with defense, but on Friday night they won with offense as they beat Bassick 62-49.
The Falcons got off to a great start and never looked back. They outscored Bassick 19-9 in the first quarter.
Bassick fought back in the second and at the half, the Falcons led 30-25.
The third quarter was pretty even, with Ludlowe outscoring Bassick 16 to 15 in the quarter to take a 48-40 lead after 3.
In the fourth quarter, Ludlowe outscored Bassick 13-9 despite making only one basket in the quarter.
Mark Malone had an incredible game for the Falcons. Malone scored 28 points, including hitting five 3′s and going 9 for 11 from the foul line. Malone was 9-10 from the line in the fourth to help seal the deal for the Falcons.
Patrick Gutierrez had 16 points to help the Falcons winning cause.
Ludlowe improves to 7-7 (6-6 in FCIAC). That leaves the Falcons only one win short of clinching a state tournament berth but they are looking for much more than that.
