Ludlowe Basketball: Ludlowe Drops Tough Game To Trinity

Ludlowe fell to Trinity 53-47 on Tuesday night.

Ludlowe played a great first quarter and led 10-8 after one thanks to great hustle.

The second quarter was the direct opposite as Trinity outscored Ludlowe 18-0 to take a 26-20 lead at half. Ludlowe had the game tied at 20 but Trinity scored 6 points in the final minute of the quarter to take a 6 point lead at half.

Ludlowe trailing 28-20 early in the 3rd, went on an 8-0 run to tie the game at 28. However, after three quarters, Trinity led 39-33.

With Trinity leading 46-40 with 3:12 to play, Mark Malone of Ludlowe took an elbow to the head. Malone stayed down with blood coming from his head. EMT’s were called and Malone was immobilized and taken away on a stretcher in an ambulance. The status of Malone other than the fact the stitches are needed is unknown at this time. We hope he is OK and gets back soon.

Ludlowe made a late run but it wasn’t enough as Trinity held on for a 53-47 victory.

Ludlowe was led by Connor Peterson’s 17 points and Patrick Gutierrez’s 12.

The Falcons fall to 7-8, 6-7 in the FCIAC. They will look to get back on track on Friday at home when they play Danbury at 7pm.
