Ludlowe beat Danbury 50-30 on Thursday night to clinch as spot in the state tournament for the 3rd straight year.
Ludlowe got out early in the first quarter and led 10-2 with 3 min left in the quarter and Danbury was forced to take a time out. Out of the time out, Danbury went on a 8-0 run to close the quarter and after 1, Ludlowe and Danbury were tied at 10.
In the second quarter Ludlowe was trailing 12-11 until then went on a 9-0 run to take a 20-12 lead.
At halftime, Ludlowe led 20-15.
Ludlowe broke the game wide open in the 3rd quarter. The Falcons outscored Danbury 18-6 in the quarter to take a 38-21 lead after 3.
In the fourth quarter Ludlowe outscored Danbury 12-9 to finish off a convincing 50-30 victory.
Patrick Gutierrez led the Falcons with 21 points and Chad Peterson had 9 off the bench.
Ludlowe improves to 8-8, 7-7 in the FCIAC.
Ludlowe got the win without guard Mark Malone, who was out after getting injured on Tuesday at Trinity.
