Robert Pattinson attacked in NYC

by:

Robert Pattinson began filming the movie, “Remember Me,” officially yesterday. There was a 6am wakeup call to be on set. First both actors (Pattinson and De Ravin) were on set for hair/make-up/wardrobe. After all of that process was done Pattinson arrived on set.

Fans were able to stand across the street and watch Pattinson filming outside. He basically kept walking back and forth down the block. All you could see was him smoking and drinking (soda first, then coffee). I think the scene being filmed was shot like this:

Pattinson walks down to the corner of a block, meets up with someone (probably a friend of his in the movie). They talk for a few minutes. He laughs and turns to walk away. As he is walking away with his back turned and does a goodbye wave to the friend. He doesn’t look at him, he just waves and keeps walking.

The director kept yelling cut, quiet on set, rolling, etc… (you know all the typical film lingo).

Once that scene was done, security had Pattinson walk back to his trailer causing mass hysteria. All of these young girls, older moms, men (you name it they were there) chased him down the street to his trailer. Pattinson hid inside his trailer eating a wrap during his lunch break. Once the break was over, he walked out of the trailer to head back to the next filming location.

Once you saw just his arm come out of the trailer, people began screaming. People were screaming, “Rob, I love you,” “Rob take a picture with me,” “Rob come over here.” He graciously smiled, but kept walking. The publicist for the movie was on set and said they had no time — they are on a tight shooting schedule.

Pattinson kept walking with about three bodyguards around him. As he made his way back to the set, everything went even more insane. Girls were trying to touch him, get a picture with him, grab him, etc… The security kept screaming at people to back away.

Thankfully, Pattinson made it to the next location unharmed (at least physically). The next location was inside of a classroom. He was in there for probably 4/5 hours. Then he was escorted away. I was able to see him afterward and he was extremely nice. He was in his normal every day clothes. Some girls did find him though and he ran straight into his car. Overall, sweet guy.

It’s terrible when you are being chased down the street. Some PA’s estimated that there were a couple hundred girls standing outside waiting for him. One of the security members did say they expected this and will have to up the security as the days go on.

Pattinson was supposed to be filming today, however from what I am hearing the set is on major lock down after everything that happened yesterday. Pattinson is hiding behind a huge umbrella and no one can get anywhere near him now. Looks like a few girls ruined it for everyone.

100 Monkeys convert New York City

I have been converted… I am a monkey, well sort of.

The 100 Monkeys is this rock and roll, alternative, blues band.  Basically they play every genre of music you can imagine.

They performed two shows on Sunday. The first one (1pm) was at Angels and Kings, which is a small intimate bar.

The second show (8pm) was at the Hill Country Bar. This place is the most western your going to get in New York City.

The 100 Monkeys have a cult of online followers, it could be due to the fact that Jackson Rathbone is in the band. Rathbone has become in the public eye after playing Jasper in the Twilight movie. The rest of the band includes: Ben Graupner, Ben Johnson, Jared Anderson, and Laurence Abrams (Abrams wasn’t at the shows, but is featured on the CD).

I got to interview the band and let me tell you, they are some of the most amazing, cool, down to earth people I have ever met. Before their first show all of the guys were hanging out in an apartment right above the bar.

They discussed how they used to play music in a car and just drive around from place to place. They all interrupt each other probably due to the fact that they have been friends for years. One message I got was they like playing in small venues. “We like to be able to see the people we are playing music for,” Jackson said. They all agreed that this helps especially when they make up songs on the spot.

They also play pranks on each other from what I heard, one of them stole underwear (which has not been returned) and the entire band woke up their manager using all their instruments. These guys do like to have fun, but their music is in a league of it’s own.

What surprised me is their musical abilities. All of them play EVERYTHING. They get on stage and there is so much energy and excitement. They take turns singing and playing all the instruments, which really gets the crowd excited.

They created two songs up on the spot from the crowds suggestions. One of them was about Peacocks and the other, cupcakes. These songs were not only funny, but were actually really good songs.

They don’t make everything up, they do have songs people have come to know and love. They sang fan favorites such as “Ugly Girl,” “Smoke,” and “Wasteland Too.”

They also performed a special song called, “The Monkey Song.” This  was originally written by their friend, Spencer Bell. Unfortunately, Bell passed away in December of 2006 from Adrenal Cancer. He was a poet, artist, and musician. The band hopes to keep his legacy alive. To find out more about Spencer Bell and how you can help please click here.

The 100 Monkeys are going to do some recording in July and plan on putting a full album out sometime in August/September. They all mentioned how much they love their fans, and to send socks. They need them!

One last thing, if you get a chance to see these guys live you should. An experience happens when you go, something in you changes. Their music is inspiring.
