Children’s Programs at the Library

From infants to grade schoolers and even tweens, the Greenwich Library’s Children’s Room has a bunch of fun programs for kids of all ages.

Baby Lapsit meets twice a day on Thursdays, at 9:45am and 1:15pm. It’s a pre-registered program for infants up to 12 months and a parent or caregiver. Babies enjoy nursery rhymes, simple stories, songs, finger plays and movements. Participants will take home a folder filled with the words and songs so the fun can continue at home.

Wee Ones is a program designed for toddlers 12-24 months with a parent or caregiver. On Mondays at either 10:00am or 11:00am, enjoy simple stories, songs, movement and finger plays. It’s a great way to introduce children to the wonderful world of books. This is a drop-in program and no registration is required.

Tales for Tots is a drop-in program for two- and three- year-olds with a parent or caregiver, that meets on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10:30am. Stories are told, songs are sung and finger plays are enacted to encourage a love of books and early language development. No registration is required.

Fiesta de los Cuentos takes place Thursdays at 11:00am. Join us for a Spanish and English story time. Toddlers and preschoolers sing songs, listen to stories and enjoy this bilingual program. No registration is required.

Mother Goose Story Time takes place select Saturdays at 10:30am. The program is for babies, toddlers and pre-school children. No registration required; just drop-in and enjoy the fun!

Junior Book Club, for students in grades 4-6, meets monthly on Thursdays at 4:30pm . Join us for a snack and book discussion. Registration is required and the book will be available at the Children’s Room Desk.

Book Worms is a pre-registered program for children in grades 2 and 3 who are reading independently. Join us for book discussion, fun activities and a snack. Meets monthly on Wednesdays from 4-5pm.

Once Upon a Book is a program for children in grades k-2 that meets monthly on Tuesdays at 4pm. Children attend without a grownup, but pre-registration is required. Program includes stories, crafts or other activities.

Story Crafts meets monthly on Mondays at 4pm. There are stories, songs and crafts designed for three- four- and five-year-olds with a parent or caregiver. Children make their own craft to take home. No registration is required but space is limited. Please come early and sign in at the Children’s Room desk.
