File A Lawsuit, Create A Job

Merrick Alpert had everything to gain.

Dick Blumenthal had everything to lose.

Bottom line of the debate between the two Democratic candidates for Chris Dodd’s U.S. Senate seat: Dick lives and Merrick rises. Alpert went right after the state attorney general’s rep as a relentless litigator. We’ve had 20 years of lawsuits and 20 years of press conferences. Dick’s reply: lawsuits create jobs. Really? For lawyers, maybe?

Dick should embrace a new campaign slogan: file a lawsuit, create a job.
