The guber primary between Ned Lamont and Dan Malloy has gotten much tighter, according today’s Q Poll. Four weeks ago Lamont had a 17 point lead among registered Dems. It’s now 9 based on likely Dem voters, a more accurate sample of where the race stands. What does this mean? It’s going to be some fight. From the Q Poll:
Among likely Democratic primary voters, businessman Lamont leads former Stamford Mayor Malloy 46 – 37 percent, with 16 percent undecided.
Likely Democratic primary voters are more solid in their support, but 50 percent of those who select a candidate say they might change their mind.
Malloy gets a 50 – 8 percent favorability among likely Democratic voters, with 40 percent who haven’t heard enough to form an opinion. Lamont’s favorability is 60 – 12 percent.
The race is closer on the Democratic side, where Malloy is within single digits. This race could go down to the wire.

Hey Mikey -I’ve seen Malloy’s “barn” on TV.Not too shabby.As as the ad questions-how did he get a $2 million dollar house on his low salary? And all the work done by the “no-bid” contractors? These issues deserve an answer,and Danny ain’t talking about it-only bashing Ned. I wont vote for Malloy.He’s not one of us “working class people”.
As a neutral observer (of Republicans) I’d say Oz G. is the only qualified Republican candidate. Ned and Dan are both highly qualified Dems, I happen to like Ned.
Ok Mike,I’ll respond.First Fedele has spent 3 yrs as Rell’s lackey.He has nothing to offer.He tries to smear state employees in his ads,when in fact most state employees have had no raises and unpaid furloughs the past few yrs.That’s the best he can do do? Try to drum up anti-state worker sentiment?And when a 70 yr old angily asked him a question at a public event-he ran like a GIRL,and had the geezer arrested.A REAL man to elect…Now to Malloy-the champion of workers-ILLEGAL ALIENS that is.The streets of Stamford were lined with illegals during Malloys tenure.I guess he re-wrote immigration law in his spare time. Take Dee G’s comment for example. Is she not voting for Malloy and Fedele because they are not poor or because they are not rich?
The truth is that Fedele and Malloy are the only two guys running for governor who were NOT born with
Silver Spoons in their mouths.
The others, Foley and Lamont, are filthy rich and got their money the old fashion way. Daddy gave it to them.
Fedele and Malloy both had to grow up with their mom and dad working their fingers to the bone to provide decent housing for their kids. Mike and Dan both graduated together, in the same class and from the same PUBLIC high school in Stamford. They know what it is like to live and work in a large city. (Most people do not realize the Stamford is almost the size of Bridgeport. )
Dee G., by comparison to the mansions on large estates that Foley and Lamont live on in wealthy Greenwich, Fedele and Malloy live in barns.
Mike Fedele and Dan Malloy both need the support from everyday folks like those living in Bridgeport.
Every Republican in Bridgeport should vote for Fedele on August 10th. .

You are comparing apples and oranges – registered voters vs. likely voters. Among registered voters Malloy’s support actually went down.
This is a first-time poll of likely voters so no trend is apparent.
Malloy’s no hero for the working man. He lives in a huge house in a ritzy neighborhood. He knows nothing about the money struggles of the working poor. It’s sad but this election it boils down to who I WON’T VOTE FOR,rather than who I like. Right now that list consists of Malloy,Fedele, and the wonderful wizard ( OZ)

Wake up…this guy beat Lieberman 4 years ago and would have been a U.S. Senator had not the idiot Republicans put up such a weakling who didn’t get but 5% of the statewide vote making Little Joe the Independent senator from Connecticut.
Lamont will win and rightly so. And so Mayor Birdman hopes also, but for personal reasons.
I predict a win for Malloy on August 10th by 5% or more. I am speaking with prime voters and they are not buying the man who is trying to buy the election.
