Only in Bridgeport

Award-winning journalist Lennie Grimaldi cracks open the juicy stuff in Connecticut's largest city

Check Out City’s Image Campaign

by:

You know what I say, you must promote your assets be it a company or a city. You’ll be seeing a lot of this commercial on your favorite cable network. It was produced by Westport-based Turbine which has done its share of work in Bridgeport including commercials on behalf of BMW of Bridgeport. The media campaign is a joint effort between the city and Bridgeport business community. What do ya think?

  1. R.U. Kiddin says:

All goes to show you how troubled we are as a city. To think that the powers to be would spend nearly 400K in part to hire an out of town firm to try and convince our neighbors to come to Bridgeport for a night out. RU Kiddin? The money would have been much better spent rallying the troops here in Bridgeport to be good citizens and contributors. That may have impressed our neighbors more to know that we’re trying to get our act together.

It was a glossy, well produced piece of crap. While Finch is bullying the unions, and threatening to lay off cops and firemen-our tax money is being spent on garbage like this. And Finch can’t resist putting his mug right in the middle. If Finch wants to fund such ego trips like these ads-LET HIM DO IT ON “HIS DIME”

  3. Paul G. Littlefield says:

While I am no fan of Bill Finch, Mayor of Bridgeport, and his obfuscation of the source of funds to pay for the ad, non-the-less, I was favorably impressed with the content, production and execution of the graphics of the ad. I remember my surprise towards the end to see Finch fly fishing on the Pequoneck. Finch needsd some vocal coaching to deliver his line “It’s Bridgeport” with more punch and enthusiasm. That was a definite weakness in the ad. But somebody showed real skill and talent, putting the clip together.
