What Do The Polls Say?

by:

A new poll conducted by the Merriman River Group shows Mayor Bill Finch with a 5 point lead over former Mayor Joe Ganim and a 15 point lead over Mary-Jane Foster, co-founder of the Bridgeport Bluefish, in head-to-head matchups based on more than 500 likely Democratic voters. Finch has larger leads over two other announced Democrats, former Finch administration official John Gomes and multi-mayoral candidate Charlie Coviello. Ganim, who is not a candidate for mayor, had been acting like one several weeks ago, but has recently lowered his profile. The poll shows there’s still some nostalgia out there for the former mayor. Finch and challengers will face off in a September primary. As for Bridgeport Republicans, knock, knock…anyone home?

What are the poll results if there’s a large primary field that includes Ganim? This is the percentage breakdown, according to the survey:

Five Candidates, Percentage

Ganim 34

Finch 32

Foster 15

Gomes 4

Coviello 2

Other 2

Unsure 10

Total 100

Amen, brother Brick !I don’t know why people worship this guy.Not only did he stuff his pockets for ten years-he had the arrogance to say he did nothing wrong. And to this date -almost 10 yrs later he still hasn’t admitted guilt.Until he “mans up”,and apologizes-I got no respect for him.And Al? No new taxes ?I seem to remember mill rates around 65 during the “flower planting era”.

“To the tune of these are a few of my favorite things By Julie Andrews” How OLD are you AL?!?!? You voted Jasper McLevy in your early years didn’t you!!! hahahaha

Imagine how much good Ganim COULD have done if he wasn’t a crook…Everyone deserves a second chance? Hmm, maybe next time he’ll buy us dinner before he F*CKS us. ***shaking my head***

People in Our Great City are able to look at a MAN’s Record! and look beyond his or her faults, Like it or not Many People feel Our City was moving in the right direction Under Joe Ganim. Many of the Projects have already be mention. Its GReat to see their Our People who truly Believe in Second Chances!

This is still America and everyone deserves a second chance.

My opinion about Joe Ganim is that if he throws his hat in the ring this Month, he will have a 8 to 12 point lead over all others, including Mayor Finch.
The National, State and local media will jump all over his Candidacy,
front page News good and bad.
Mayor Finch along with Mayor Fabizi will go down as just Caretakers, waiting for Ganim to return.
Joe Ganim can point to all his good deeds, opening of four new Schools, Steel Pointe, the Citywide clean and green program , the beautification project at Seaside park and Went Field. New street signs, treescapes, road blocks with New Jersey barriers to close off drug infested streets, the Ball Park as well as the Arena at Harbor Yard, and above all No New Taxes.
While Finch can only show us a false promise of Six Hundred Dollar Tax Rebate, with pot holes & rain barrels. Pot holes & rain barrels will be Finch’s Swan song. (To the tune of these are a few of my favorite things
By Julie Andrews). While Finch & Fabizi both had vision of grandeur, that they would be the ones to finalize Steel Pointe.
With Ganim in the race safe money will appear, those who give to Finch, also will send a check to Ganim, but right now time is on Bill Finch’s side.
The longer Joe sit’s out , the larger the lead for Finch and others.
If Joe’s get’s in the Race by May 15, Finch may spit the bit,——Riders Up!

Finch in the lead? Come on,he’s got 2 chances for re-election-SLIM,and NONE.And SLIM just left town.Ganim -a convicted felon -has even less of a chance.I think Foster is going to be our mayor, simply because she’s not a fraud,or a liar,or a convicted criminal. We need a clean slate

There hasn’t been anyone home in the Republicsn party in over 20 years. The good news is that there are a few quality candidates on the Democratic ticket. I will not be quick to dismiss Finch. However, I did have the opportunity to hear Mary jane Foster the other evening on WICC . Let’s just say I will keep listening and she didn’t have the personality of lint. Speaking of which if Bill Finch hasn’t the opportunity to excite a developer to this great city , he should at least be surrounded by a few cherleaders. I fear for Finch that if there are not multiple shovels in the ground by next September, the election will most likely go the way the Country is going and we will most likely have a new Mayor. I believe that the next Mayor will know how to promote this city and see mass development all over the city, which of course is the only hope we have to lower our taxes and appeal to Homeowners and developers. The houses have gone down so low that the taxes are higher than the Mortagages. Fix That FINCH!!!!!.
