A curfew can’t be enforced,and therefore can’t work.The cops can’t be everywhere watching every kid.We need parents to start being parents again.Watch your own teens.Don’t let them hang out with 20 yr olds if they are only 14.There’s no good reason for 20-somethings to hang out with young kids,unless they are USING them for some purpose (like illegal activities-if a minor gets caught breaking the law-no jail time,just call the parents.)

Anyone read the nauseating letter Bill wrote to the Post?How he’s lived here 30 yrs paying taxes and how some years he ‘struggled’ only making $50,000.So what?Many of us live on that NOW. ( I do..at least I TRY to).And we get no raises,and our unions sell us out because guys like you,Bill Finch threaten to lay us off.These cronies,he’s hired..what EXACTLY have they done for Bpt.Brought in industry,or jobs?NO.They have done-and will do-nothing.Bpt is now trying to unseat New Haven for the title of murder capital of the NE.Finch should fire all these do-nothings,and hire more cops.Instead of writing letters to soothe his bruised ego

Ernie Newton violated the public trust. He paid the price after being caught and convicted. The FBI uses the motto, “If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and hangs around with ducks, it probably is a duck”. There are other non-representative jobs that Ernie Newton can do, but being a representative of any group of people means being held to a higher standard. He does NOT qualify.

What a load of crap,from the “King of BS”,Bill Finch. Neccesary to hike salaries to ‘attract qualified applicants”???? None of Finch’s cronies are qualified to collect trash,or cut grass.They got these big dollar do nothing jobs-and now big raises-because they are pals of the mayor.They should be all fired,as Finch bullied and squeezed the unionized workers-who actually WORK-for concessions,while hiring these political hacks.

It probably will cost Bpt, and rightfully so. When I saw and heard this when it was shown on channel 8, nothing the woman said or did warranted her treatment. She was unwilling to remove her clothes in the presence of male officers and she told a female officer to keep her hands off her and not to touch her. The female officer seemed to lose control and began yelling “What are you going to do if I touch you?” as she appeared to lunge at the women grabbing her by her throat. She was then swarmed by several other officers which I saw no need for. I don’t blame the woman for filing a lawsuit, but I resent that tax payers will be footing the bill for the ignorance of a police officer. She definitely needs to be disciplined and should be held financially accountable by having her pay reduced substantially for as long as it takes to pay whatever damages the court awards to the victim.She might need to be mandated to attend anger management classes, see a shrink, and be placed on probation until the whole situation is resolved, including paying off the victim’s award.
