My daughter has a condom in her college orientation packet!
Is that normal? Granted, you find them in most vending machines on most college campuses these days, but seeing that little package through the translucent folder still took me by surprise.
I don’t think it was in there when she first picked up the packet. My guess is they were passed out or left on a table as give-aways during one of the student-only sessions, while parents were off learning about the dining halls and residence life experience.
Parents were told in one of our sessions that students can buy 10 condoms for $1 at the student health center. I also noticed they are in the dorm vending machines – along with the candy bars and potato chips – 3 for 75 cents.
Looks like we have some conversation fodder for the nearly 5-hour car ride home…
