Little Green Thumb

One of the many things I love about my job (no, my boss doesn’t read my blog) is that I get to decorate the foyers of the two locations of our early learning centers. It is usually changed with the seasons or any special events we have going on. Here are a few examples of the fun stuff we (my visionary boss and I collaborate) have put together.

For Thanksgiving we give parents five index cards and a Sharpie and ask them to tell us what they’re thankful for. We then display their responses. It’s so much fun to read what they have to say!

Here’s our holiday display this year.

Most recently we had a silent auction fundraiser for our kitchen build. My boss created this fun all vegetable display. Clever, eh?

OK, so now that spring is upon us (dancing the jig here) I’m about to change out the foyers. I am just a little obsessed with terrariums. It’s partly to do with the beauty of the vessels and partly to do with the beauty of these lush, mini, encapsulated gardens. Natch I turned to Pinterest to see what ideas are out there for terrariums…and natch I had create a terrarium board. I then stumbled upon this article entitled “Mossy Mediums” and decided that adding mini people to create little scenes is a must! The kids will LOVE it! Here’s an example that the talented twosome from Twig Terrariums (and authors of Tiny World Terrariums) created. How sweet…and inspiring! Stay tuned.

I can’t wait to get started!
