I’m a big fan of mom and pop type grocers. In fact, I like these types of places so much that I often seek them out in my travels. Buying organic foods from these smaller stores just feels better all-around. Often it’s a friendlier atmosphere with unique and sometimes locally sourced products. At the very least, the products appear to be more hand selected than those found at a larger store.
Luckily, on August 30th, we won’t need to venture very far. Mrs. Green’s Natural Market is opening up a new location at the Gateway Center in Wilton (former spot of Zeytinia’s Market). The exact address is 14 Danbury Road. The postcard below arrived in my mailbox today and I did a quick dance of veggie joy.
I’ve been shopping at the Fairfield and Stamford Mrs. Greens location for years and am looking forward to their newest addition to Fairfield County. According to their website:
“Mrs. Green’s Natural Market is a neighborhood store, passionately committed to clean, natural foods. Dedicated to health and sustainability. Devoted to customers who care deeply about the foods they eat.”
My favorites at Mrs. Green are their homemade soups and dips, organic and sustainable meats, and of course the full selection of organic fruits and vegetables. Their salad bar and deli counter offer up many healthy choices too and these can appeal to everyone.
If you’ve got dietary restrictions, need special assistance with supplement selection, would like something special ordered, or just want to shop for good eats, Mrs. Greens may be an ideal fit for you.
They are likely to offer community events/talks and monthly (maybe even weekly) specials too. Who is going to join me on August 30th for their Grand Opening? I hope to see you there!
