With year-round performances in the Kweskin Theatre and The Dressing Room Theatre – conveniently located at Sterling Farms, they also produce an annual free outdoor Shakespeare production. “Curtain Call provides tens of thousands of area residents the opportunity to participate in the arts. Whether on stage, behind the scenes or in the audience, the greater Stamford community can share in great, year-round, live theatrical programming and educational opportunities in the arts.” says Lou Ursone, Executive Director of the Theatre.
Curtain Call’s Dancing with the Stars is by far one of the highlights for the community – creating a fun event while
raising awareness and raising funds for the arts. “I plan events for a living but I look forward to this gala as it is my favorite event of the year! DWTS brings out the best in everyone involved and while it’s a competition in my eyes, everyone who gets up on that stage and steps out of their comfort zone, is a winner.” Said Robin Selden, owner of Marcia Selden Catering and Co-Chair of the event. “Trust me , I know as I danced four years ago and to this day it is one of the best experiences of my life…a bucket list for sure.”
“Stamford LOVES this event! Strangers come up to me all the time, asking to get on our list for next year. They cannot wait to see our yearly line up of dancers and get very excited to support the cause. We make it fun and create lasting friendships in the community that may never have connected before meeting through this event.”
This event is Curtain Call’s only annual special event fundraiser to help underwrite the myriad costs of the operation. Contributions from individuals, corporations, foundations and more are needed to keep our organization fiscally sound as they have been for many, many years.
