Absentee ballots available for June 14 referendum

For those who cannot make it their polling place for the June 14 referendum, absentee ballots are available from the town clerk’s office.
The referendum is being to conducted to determine if $800,000 should be restored to the Board of Education’s 2011-12 budget.
Registered voters may be qualified to use an absentee ballot if they will be out of town during all the hours of voting; their illness or disability prevents them from voting in person or religious tenets prohibit secular activity on that date.
Absentee voting is a two-step process. An application for a ballot must be signed and filed with the town clerk before a ballot can be issued.
Applications are available at the town clerk’s office from Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Applications can also be downloaded from www.fairfieldct.org/voter.htm and mailed to the town clerk at 611 Old Post Road, Fairfield 06824. Call 203-256-3090 for more information.
The polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the following locations:
District 1: Fairfield Senior Center, 100 Mona Terrace
District 2: Burr Elementary School, Burr Street
District 3: Dwight Elementary School, 1600 Redding Rd
District 4: Osborn Hill School, 760 Stillson Rd
District 5: Mckinley School, 60 Thompson St
District 6: Fairfield Warde High School, 755 Melville Ave
District 7: North Stratfield School, 190 Putting Green Rd
District 8: Holland Hill School, 200 Meadowcroft Rd
District 9: Fairfield Ludlowe High School, 785 Unquowa Rd
District 10: Sherman Elementary School, 250 Fern St
