The simple lowdown on Fairfield

It’s gardening time!

|

The forecast for the weekend is picture perfect – a great time to get your vegetable garden planted. If you have been stalled by the rainy weather and a busy personal schedule (as I have been), this is the weekend to finally plan out the garden, rototill, and dig in. Except for a few items I need to still get, I am ready to roll.
If you have yet to purchase plants, seeds and other items for your plot, consider doing so at the garden centers right here in Fairfield. You might pay a little more than you would at a large chain store, but it is well worth it because of the quality of the stock.
My personal favorite is Ganim’s Garden Center, 320 Kings Highway Cutoff, but there are many others that also can satisfy your needs. And keep in mind that National Small Business Week is May 20 to 26, a time to celebrate our small business community for keeping our town vital.
The other garden centers in town are:
Oliver Nurseries, 1159 Bronson Road
Colonial Gardens, 1174 Bronson Road
Greenfield Hill Nursery, 1285 Bronson Road
Geiger’s Garden Center, 40 Belmont St.
Plant Factory, 4185 Black Rock Turnpike
