Tropical Storm Irene pounded Fairfield County’s coastline Sunday, leaving in it a wake of flooding, historic power outages and widespread damage.
Irene exposed us New Englanders to things we are not accustomed to seeing–like boats hanging out on top of rock walls.

We captured these surreal images of a boat, ironically named the “Silver Hammer,” that was taken from its marina by the rising tidal surge and smashed on top of a rock wall on Harbor Road.

The boat is currently sitting atop the wall and has become a tourist attraction, says resident Mike Brown. “It became a novelty, but I’m ready to see it get out of here.”
It’s not every day you see these things in Westport, Connecticut, let alone anywhere in New England. But then again, nor do you see Hurricanes.
If you have any weird sightings around Fairfield County that you captured in the aftermath of Hurricane Irene, please submit them to producers@ctnews.com.

This happens all the time along Harbor Road after major storms. The underwater shackles corrode over the years and finally break due to the extreme stress. The real hazard is that the metal mast is resting on the power lines above.
That would be sights, not sites. Get out your dictionary, and quickly change the word on your blog.
