TMZ: Dick Clark has died

Veteran television personality Dick Clark is shown in this undated publicity photograph released December 5, 2005.

TMZ is reporting that celebrated TV host and producer died today from a heart attack at age 82.

From the report:

Details surrounding his death are unclear, but Clark had suffered a significant stroke in 2004 — forcing him to retire from his hosting gig at “New Years’ Rockin’ Eve,” which he created in 1972.

Ryan Seacrest took over in 2006. Dick has co-hosted the show ever since.

Clark also hosted “American Bandstand” and “Pyramid.” He is survived by his wife Kari Wigton.

  2. Oh, where are my manners? I’m sorry; your prediction of the imminent demise of the LRO in post 5. You remember that prediction, don’t you? The one that in post 320 I asked if you would stand by. Which you would have known about if you had bothered to read the posts. But I understand; you’re way too busy saving the world universe to be bothered with keeping up with current events.
