‘Call of Duty’ contagion may hit the work place


Huge crowds are expected to pack GameStops and Best Buys on Tuesday for the release of “Call of Duty: Black Ops II,” one of the largest video-game releases of the year. Bosses beware, as avid gamers may even miss work for it according to USA Today .

While some fans are expected to take Tuesday off to get the game, others may call in sick the next day as a result of playing the game all night.

“I have a few folks on my staff who are passionate gamers, and I know for a fact they are going to be taking the day off,” Chris Koller, vice president of Best Buy’s home business group told the news site.

“I signed the day-off slip for them. … It’s an event. They do it every year.”

The game is expected to be the biggest yet. “Call of Duty: Black Ops II” even enlisted the help of Hollywood screenwriter David Goyer ( “The Dark Knight Rises) to help pen the story according to the Associated Press .
