The legal team for George Zimmerman released a new photo from the night Zimmerman shot and killed Trayvon Martin. The photo shows Zimmerman’s lip bloody. Zimmerman’s claims that he shot the unarmed, 17-year-old Martin in self-defense.
Zimmerman, the former neighborhood watch volunteer, was charged with second-degree murder. Zimmerman has pleaded not guilty and says the shooting was self-defense under the Florida’s “stand your ground” law. The murder trial for Zimmerman is set for June.
Lawyers from the Martin family have yet to comment on the latest photo.
