The Gray Lady’s wonderful “Living In” feature ventured into New Milford last week to profile what it referred to as “One Town, Many Neighborhoods.” That description would seemingly fit any number of towns in Connecticut and beyond, but it does seem especially appropriate for New Milford.
The article praises the town’s downtown as a vibrant destination in the midst of a renaissance — a jewel surrounded by parks, farmland, Candlewood Lake and the Housatonic. The word “rustic” makes an appearance or two. The lack of commuter rail service gets a passing mention.
It’s a good reminder of everything that town up north has to offer. So are these photos:
