New Canaan conservationist dead at 79

Donal O’Brien, a longtime leader of the National Audubon Society, died Sunday at the age of 79.

The New Canaan resident died of complications from pneumonia, his daughter told the New York Times.

Along with his conservation work, he was also the chief counsel to the Rockefeller family for nearly 50 years.
