Top Three Thursdays

A little pottery to kick off today’s Top Three Thursdays on Etsy, my favorite virtual department store. How cute is this mini bowl from Jill Rosenwald? At 6″ wide and 3″ high, it’s the perfect size for a dish of your favorite whatever — yogurt? ice cream? fresh fruit? And it’s dishwasher and microwave-safe so no reason not to use it all the time.  If you don’t need a bowl, or this color isn’t what you like, Jill has plenty of other beautiful items. Take a look. Price is $68.

How cool is this wire cage chandelier? The brainchild of Dylan Design, the light is made from industrial components. All the components are new and have been specially treated to give them a reclaimed vintage feel. Each light comes with 5′ cords so the light can be hung at any height. Also included are four “squirrel cage” Edison bulbs (40W). Price is $290.

Finally if you love Danish modern, you are going to swoon over these chairs, which look to be in mint condition. The set of four teak and oak chairs were designed by Danish designer Borge Mogensen in the ’50s. You can find them for $2,95 in at The Circa Modern. Buy them and invite Don Draper over for dinner.

Top Three Thursdays

Top Three Thursdays on Etsy kicks off with a Herman Miller Eames chair alert. The meticulous restoration was done in CoMod‘s shop. If you’re into Miller, you’ll want to snag this little wonder ASAP. Price is $215.

If you’re like me, chances are good you’ve got at least a few items on your fridge for easy recall. Maybe it’s a nice piece of art from a child or a photo, or  maybe it’s just that pesky to-do list. Whatever, why not add to the decor by holding them up with lovely magnets? These beauties are just among many options in Lovely Magnet Shoppe‘s Etsy store. A set of three is $12.50. Isn’t your fridge worth that?

You can have the best food in the world, but if you just slap it down on any old thing, your guests won’t be impressed. This handmade turquoise serving plate can be found in Shars Art Pottery shop. I love the blue/green glaze. The dish, which is 9″ X 7″ is oven/dishwasher/microwave safe. Price is a very reasonable $24.

I fell in love with this unusual curio bowl carved from black walnut found in the Etsy shop of Gray Work Designs. I just love the shape and sheen of this. I want to reach out and touch it. Added bonus: the wood is sustainably harvested. The bowl, which apparently is available in other woods as well, is hand-rubbed with walnut oil. Price is $65. If you like wood, you’ll want to check out this shop.

Up next on Top Three Thursdays is this gorgeous hand-blown fluted vase by Matthew Butterworth of Shenandoah Glassworks. It is 10″ X 7″ and has been flame polished. What a conversation starter. Price is $100.

And finally, we end our mini-tour of Etsy, the virtual online artisan department store, a little something for the knitters in the group. As a knitter myself, I find myself constantly chasing balls of yarn that have rolled off my chair or gotten stuck in my knitting bag on something else while I’m knitting. Here’s a clever solution that’s pretty besides. Just place the ball you’re working on in this heart-shaped bowl and voila! These come in a variety of colors and are made in Darrielle’s Clay Art shop. These make a great gift for the knitter in your life. Price is $40.
