Top Three Thursdays

With Halloween just around the corner allow me to kick off Top Three Thursdays on Etsy with this one Halloween post: a set of vintage coasters from Cheltenham Road. They’re perfect for your Halloween party and can be yours for $24 and priority shipping. Bring back the nights of trick or treating from your past in one fell swoop (of the witch’s broom I assume).

I love wreaths and think they are versatile on the door to welcome people to your home but also on the wall as an accent piece. It’s also an easy way to switch up your decor with seasonal changes. This autumnal wreath from Two Inspire You‘s shop is a lovely example. It’s made from 18″ grapevine with autumn-colored berries. I love the delicacy; some wreaths can be too country for me if you know what I mean. Price is $55. Size is about 22″ in diameter and 6″ deep.

This last one falls in to the Not for Everyone Category, but I thought was interesting so here goes….a chandelier made entirely from recycled newspapers that’s available in Nature Accessories‘ shop. The “roses” are 4-6″ and  are attached with string to spiral wire so they can be moved around. There is a wire that holds the spiral not to open but if you like you can remove that and than you can open the spiral. The whole circle is attached to fishing line so it gives a floaty feel, according to the creator. The diameter is about 50″ and it’s on sale for $85, down from $100. What do you think? A yea? Or a nay?

Top Three Thursdays

Top Three Thursdays on Etsy starts off with an Eastern vibe with this cool Japanese-inspired wall clock from Takumi Designs 24. The design is reminiscent of a gate to a temple or Japanese garden, according to the shop owner, who hails from San Diego. The clock face is covered with a square of vintage kimono silk from the 1960s. The framing gate design is made of alder wood with an Espresso stain, and it measures  14″x15″x 1.25″. The trim piece is black lacquer. Price is $58.

Up next are these cool upcycled vintage jewelry display cases made from former printer drawers in the shop of Blue Bird Heaven. Where once type sat now hangs necklaces, bracelets and earrings. Each one is custom-made for the buyer. I love the idea of displaying your jewelry as art even when it’s not on your body. This particular one is $98, but price varies according to size.

And finally this vintage look subway sign/bus scroll  for the New York City and/or public transportation fan in your life. Made in Transit Design‘s shop, the canvas is 20.5″ X 60″. Each piece is carefully laid out and printed with UV protected ink on high quality canvas. An aging technique is applied to create the vintage look.  The shop offers a ton of different city options, ranging from Europe to San Francisco and others. You can suggest your own and they’ll make it. Price here is $195.

Top Three Thursdays

I’m kicking off Top Three Thursdays on Etsy with a unique side table from Fine Art is Made. The criss-cross construction creates a funky cut-out silhouette that makes this side table anything but an aside in a room, don’t you think. It’s handpainted. Size is 28″W x 28″D x28″H, with some assembly required. Price is $400.

Want to get organized? This cool office box cupboard that once graced a post office could make your office a standout AND keep you organized at the same time. Love the patina on this. It features original hardware drawer pulls — bonus! — and is 25″ W X 10″ D X 19″ T. Price is $350 and you can  find it at UnExpected Partie.

And, yes, as I search the world for just the right chaise lounge, I came across this one. It’s not for my house, but it might be right for you! I can imagine lying indolently on it, book in hand, lovely cool drink on the table beside me. Sigh. This vintage lovely has its original pink embroidered silk upholstery and curvy French legs. Size is 67″ long and 30″ wide. Price is $995 at Fabulous Mess, which this clearly is not!
