Temporary Wallpaper!

This is a brilliant idea that’s new to me and so maybe for you as well: Temporary wallpaper, sort of wall decals (increasingly popular everywhere) on steroids. It’s a vinyl coated self-adhesive wall decor that you apparently can easily remove and reposition. Love this idea for accent walls and creating design statements in general. Here are just a few of the options I saw at 2Modern. I just may have to buy some of this…..Prices depend on the paper.

Wallpaper Wonders

Burke Decor has some fabulous wallpaper if you’re in the market. Our youngest son just left for college, and I can’t wait to get my hands on his room, which has not been painted in a decade. It was too much of a pain to do it while he lived in it fulltime so I let it be. But now, haha! It’s mine! I’ve been pondering wallpaper rather than my usual painting mania. Here are a few samples to whet your wallpaper appetite. While not right for my son’s room, they got my wallpaper lust going for sure. Which ones do you like?

Happy Monday!

If this wallpaper from Mod Green Pod doesn’t brighten your Monday, I don’t know what will. The lovely ladies from Austin, Texas, who are the brains behind this company create wallpaper that is vinyl free, hand-printed and using non-toxic inks. They also do fabrics that are utterly gorgeous. The Delight is  $75 a roll and the Grand Jubilee is $60 a roll. Happy Monday!

Wallpaper Wonders

While I have very little wallpaper in my home, I have a thing for beautiful wallpaper and have visions, in my fantasy home — you all have one of these don’t you, where you don’t have to think about anybody’s taste but your own and you do EXACTLY what you want in each and every room and it’s all fabulous? — anyway I dream of creating interesting accent walls or rooms of lovely lovely wallpaper. So when I saw a posting about Graham and Brown, a venerable British wallpaper company that now has a US website, on Apartment Therapy, I immediately clicked…and fell in love. Look over these images and I dare you not to as well.

Slimed

Okay, this wallpaper at Branch Home, one of my favorite eco-friendly home decor websites, isn’t for everyone…clearly. But I could see this perhaps on one wall for an accent. All four walls would give anyone a headache! It also comes in green if you can believe it, which I think kids would love! Called Slime — for obvious reasons — it’s made by Mark Giglio and is apparently a take-off on Victorian wallpaper. It’s sold in sets of two, which will give you enough to cover 67.5 square feet of wall. It’s silkscreened on recycled paper using water-based inks. Price is $240 for the two rolls.
