After clearing a few other key Tri-State games out of the way, MSG’s Mike Quick gives Prep-Shelton 07 legend status, announcing it was one of the all-time great high school football games the network’s ever done. (Second only to Bergen Catholic-St. Joe’s Montvale in 2004).
Quick didn’t go (he was down in Jersey) but reviewed the film while working out. “We were very happy,” he said. “That crowd, made it sound like a college game. It was unbelievable.”
He’s on board with be believing Ryan Nolan had something to do with the atmosphere. So, as much as they went nuts over the comments, we believe the Shelton booster club can thank him for the monstrous 50-50 raffle (which was nearly $600) and the thousands they must have made at the concessions.
