This is kind of like saying, “Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead.”
But because of rampant rumors that just didn’t seem to want to go away, the New Canaan football website, Ramfootball.com felt it necessary to post this notice that the game will STILL be at Dunning Stadium at 10:30 on Thanksgiving Morning.
Don’t believe everything you read or hear
Nov. 22, 2008 – There is a rumor going around that the Turkey Bowl game will be moved to Boyle Stadium in Stamford. As of late this afternoon, this isn’t true. It is true that 3,400 “advanced sale” tickets have already been sold (equally between Darien and New Canaan), and Dunning’s capacity is not as large as Boyle’s, and a lot of people want to attend this game… but this is the Turkey Bowl. It’s supposed to be played at 10:30am on Thanksgiving morning, at either Darien or New Canaan’s home field (the location alternates each year). This is a game between two small home town teams based on tradition, pride and a mutual respect… especially this season as both teams come in with undefeated records. Wherever the game is held, it will be a great game and, as of now, we will follow tradition and the game will be at Dunning.
We’d heard this rumor at exactly this time last week, but Mary at the New Canaan football office, after expressing serious doubts about its validity, actually took the time to ask New Canaan coach Lou Marinelli and then called us back last Thursday night with an emphatic “No.”
So, yes you can believe the notices that we’ve been running in the newspaper for the past week: The FCIAC championship game is STILL being played at Dunning Stadium. Get your tickets NOW.
Foof.

Darien Times is reporting that the game is at Boyle:
