  1. Masuk in 7th, Brookfield in 10th???????? Any background on that, SPB?

    Comment by Huh? — November 25th, 2008 @ 7:54 am

  2. Yes huh, reality!!

    Masuk, clearly a better team!

    Comment by Voice of Reason — November 25th, 2008 @ 11:40 am

  3. The only way Brookfield can prove their worth is to rematch Masuk, and win. Of course this can’t happen (Can’t rematch and can’t win)So, looks like second best is all you get.

    Comment by Doubter — November 25th, 2008 @ 11:49 am

  4. What? Wait. You’re saying Brookfield has to beat Masuk, not just once but twice to prove its worth over Masuk?

That is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard.

I voted Brookfield ahead of Masuk in my poll, which is how it should be until further notice.

    Comment by SPB — November 25th, 2008 @ 12:18 pm

  5. no, masuk is clearly the better team at this point in the season. the polls are not based on head to head records like the swc championship masuk is clearly better right now as a team. they will show that tommorow night at newtown

its not about the past its about right now

    Comment by MHS — November 25th, 2008 @ 1:38 pm

  6. I can tell you that masuk didnt get beat 34-3, that is a blowout! A team who gets blown the hell out will lose respect. thats what happened here.

oh and SPB “until further notice” meaning until Bfield plays three awful teams in route to a state championship? Also sinse your sharing, how close did you vote Crosby to Ansonia?

    Comment by well now — November 25th, 2008 @ 2:34 pm

  7. its funny how people make up rules as they go. brookfield beat masuk, the chosen team for the state, and masuk is still better because there has to be a second game, come on. if brookfield lost that game there would be no talk like this brookfield would be completely disregarded. you guys need to get a grip on reality because you have no idea. im not saying brookfield is the best but they deserve a little credit, but you refuse to acknowledge that, i wonder why that is

    Comment by joker — November 25th, 2008 @ 3:40 pm

  8. SPB you are the man and I hate to differ with you but in both polls Brookfield is ranked lower than Masuk. Can we all be wrong??

    Comment by Doubter — November 25th, 2008 @ 3:47 pm

  9. I am really at a loss for words here. I really want to know WHY no one has any respect for Brookfield? Not just this year, but past years, they never got any credit. I really dont expect teams like Newtown & Masuk to give them any because its just their “way” BUT to the rest…what is it? When they beat Masuk, it was a “fluke”, did anyone look at the stats from that game? BHS QB 21/36 for 364, 4 TDs, Rush 27-61, Rec 21-364, Tackles 70 & MHS QB 10/19 for 145, 1 TD, Rush 20-98, Rec 10-166, Tackles 63 – WHO won that game? Look at the numbers & then tell me what you think.

    Comment by Huh? — November 25th, 2008 @ 5:31 pm

  10. Brookfield is lower then Masuk becasue Brookfield is a loosing program and a joke.

    Comment by forum — November 25th, 2008 @ 6:02 pm

  11. If only Brookfield had been able to beat Newtown the first time we would all know for sure that Masuk is better than Brookfield.

    Comment by truth — November 25th, 2008 @ 6:15 pm

  12. Again, a loss for words…for some silly reason I thought I could have an intelligent conversation with someone besides our friend SPB, my mistake. I enjoy your stuff SPB, keep on doing what you’re doing…as for me,my posting days are done, the ignoramuses have chased me away. Happy Thanksgiving.

  13. MASUK
State Championship 1W-6L . Last State Championship 1998
    WCC/SWC Championship 5W-5L. Last Championship 2003

    BROOKFIELD
State Championship 1W-3L. Last State Championship 1995
    WCC/SWC Championship 5W-1L. Last Championship 2008

    Last five years SWC Championship:
    MASUK-2004 DID NOT MAKE, 2005 DID NOT MAKE, 2006 LOST, 2007 LOST, 2008 DID NOT MAKE=RECORD 0-5

    BROOKFIELD-2004 LOST, 2005 WON!, 2006 DID NOT MAKE, 2007 DID NOT MAKE, 2008 WON!=RECORD 2-5

ONE HEAD TO HEAD CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH-UP:
    RESULT BROOKFIELD 33 – MASUK 6 1995 WCC CHAMPIONSHIP

    ENROLLMENT:
    MASUK-BOYS- approx-600
    BROOKFIELD-BOYS- approx-300

Now “forum” if BROOKFIELD is a losing program and a joke what does that make MASUK. I think both programs are pretty simalar except for their enrollment. Both programs I believe have earned respect!

Comment by WOW!!! Here are the Facts — November 26th, 2008 @ 12:35 am

  14. If Brookfield is a joke, and Masuk lost to them, what does that make Masuk?

    Comment by Rob — November 26th, 2008 @ 8:57 am

  15. to say a program is a losing program and a joke shows your stupidity. you know nothing about brookfield or any other school for that matter so keep your non sense to yourself.

    Comment by hank — November 27th, 2008 @ 1:17 pm

  16. Masuk got beat by ranked brookfield and Ansonia got beat by unranked Crosby and Ansonia ahaed of them?

    Comment by SWC — November 29th, 2008 @ 12:50 am

  17. Ansonia beat ranked Seymour and Masuk beat no one of importance. SWC, Is it true that you played the younger Brian Urlacher in the Old Spice Swagger commercial?

    Comment by Dino — December 1st, 2008 @ 8:28 am

  18. actually masuk beat bunnell who was #2 or 3 in the state at the time.
