Snow Day!

snowman.jpg Hello everybody! It’s a snow day! — our first major snowfall of the year so everything’s off. Instead of heading over to St. Joseph, for an early anticipated battle between FCIAC rivals St. Joe and Central — not to mention coach Vito Montelli‘s court dedication — I’m hunkered down at home with hot cocoa, trying to get a 2008 Football Connecticut Post All-Star team together for publication the weekend after Christmas.

But first, we got a handle on all the boys basketball postponements for today. Most of the games are tomorrow (Saturday), but there are also a few pushed to Monday or Tuesday.

Here’s what we have so far:

Confirmed postponements
Law at Amity, ppd. to Saturday, 3:30
Holy Cross at Ansonia, ppd. to Monday, 7
Central at St. Joseph, ppd. indefinitely (Note: It looks like Coach Montelli’s court ceremony will be held in the new home opener vs. Fairfield Warde Monday.)
McMahon at Ridgefield, ppd to Saturday, 5
East Haven at Derby, ppd. to Saturday, 3
Danbury at Fairfield Ludlowe, ppd. to Tuesday, 7
Career at Fairfield Prep, ppd. TBA
Fairfield Warde at Trinity Catholic, ppd. to Saturday, 5 p.m.
Foran at Lyman Hall, ppd. to Saturday, 5
Southington at Masuk, ppd. to Saturday, 7
Darien at Norwalk, ppd. to Saturday, 4
ND-West Haven at Cheshire, ppd. to Saturday, 5
Guilford at Shelton, ppd. to Saturday, 7
Westhill at Staples, ppd. to Saturday, 4:30
Trumbull at Greenwich, ppd. to Tuesday, 4
Wilbur Cross at West Haven, ppd. to Saturday, 4

Here are the stragglers as of 2:20 p.m.
Barlow vs. at Tip-Off Classic at Western Connecticut
Bassick at Wilton
Vinal Tech at O’Brien Tech

  1. SPB-
You’re right, the official court-naming ceremony at St. Joseph to honor legendary head coach Vito Montelli has been postponed to Monday night. The Cadets will host Fairfield Warde at 7pm. The ceremony will take place at approximately 6:30pm. I hope to see you there!
