SPB's High School Football

Connecticut High School Football news, analysis, commentary and features with Connecticut Post online producer and writer Sean Patrick Bowley.

Son of Ida!

RainCloudNo, this is the tile of some 1950s B-movie horror flick — though this could turn some of our Week 9 football games into cheap imitations of their typical selves, or scare a fair share of ADs away.

This is the name of the perfect storm that’s spiraling up the coast, mixing the low from the hurricane formerly known as Ida with a high pressure system to our north.

In short, it’s gonna be a mess this evening at a football game near you.

Wind. Cold. Rain.

Misery.

So keep tabs on the CIAC Week 9 scoreboard here for any postponements. Or just follow @ciacfb or me, @SPBowley on Twitter to get all the info as it comes in.

One thing’s for sure: New Canaan-Central at Kennedy Stadium is game on. So is Staples-Trumbull (they’ve played in worse at McDougall). Should make for some interesting developments throughout the most crucial regular-season week this side of Thanksgiving.

So, while you’re all at school or at work, hit my Guide to the Games here or below on this blog and don’t forget to peruseĀ  our high school football page here and read over all the features and game previews for this week’s thrilling conclusion to the regular, regular season (next week and Thanksgiving doesn’t count). Info and tidbits galore. I promise.

We’ll have the live scoring blog up around 1 p.m. today, and it’ll get started around 5 p.m. so be sure to check that out, too.

Until then…
