The W.H. Hand game should be a game of the week,both teams are playing well enough up to this point.
McMahon Ridgefield,could be a good game this week,but the senators had trouble with danbury early this season.Could get ugly,early!
The West Haven-Hand game is always a tight game and this year with W.H. undefeated and Hand with one loss the game is very important for both teams.
Westies are getting better and more confident every day.
Based on how each team played ND-WH, the Westies should run right through Hand. Hand is technically sound as always, but comparitively unathletic.
Game of the week is Hand-West Haven…game has major playoff implications. Interesting game to me is the Trumbull-Danbury game…I know Danbury has a poor record, but don’t be surprised if they hang with the Eagles for a while…just my opinion
If the hatters get all purpose back herrington back,they can contend in this game,hes almost as explosive as mcintosh fr central(ask darien),interesting we are in week 7 and its still hard to gauge alot of these teams,it may be a matter of whos playing at their highest level come the end of the season,unfortunately whoever is doesnt always make the dance

Ansonia will still be in the Top 10, but their stock went way down. I hear Derby threw on them all game. Stop Dobbs on offense and you stop Ansonia. A good team in the playoffs should be able to do that.

Yes, Ansonia is a lock for the Class S playoffs.
Of course, they were a lock last year, and the year before, too, when teams from another league — I forget which one — won the championships.
Talk about a one man show,Dobbs 54 carries and a TD pass. Stop Dobbs and you stop Ansonia. Derby scored 32 points on the Big Blue Defense. LOL. That is the Joke RAY.
Sorry Ray…Ansonia lost a ton of credibility after that game. Nothing you can say will change anyone’s opinion. You can come on hear and write in CAPS ALL YOU WANT. ANSONIA IS OVERRATED

Look, I get it. That was a 3-3 Derby team and Ansonia had to claw back to beat them. That win is not going to get the Chargers tons of respect statewide. But what many people don’t understand is what that game means to both sides, and how hard Derby comes to play in it. And that is fine. It would be hard for an outsider to care or understand it and I don’t expect people to.
Derby has talent on that roster, ask SPB for his honest opinion. They finally have a coaching staff that is getting the most out of it.
Dave K, you will have something decent to watch on Turkey Day for a change this year. I hope for your sake you do. It is much more fun that way.

You are right this does make turkey day a lot more interesting. In recent years the Shelton coaching staff has had a hard time motivating the players for Derby. The Gaels have come out flat a few times. That shouldn’t happen this year.Derby may have closed the gap.

Joe’s ….wonder why??…I say that BECAUSE all you talk about on here is S.J.H.S…..THEY HAVE FOOTBALL TEAMS TO PLAY STILL… and if they get to the playoffs they will be more than tested…. you also seem to forget montville is a legit football team that will be a tough out
I heard Derby is a good team this year….please they were constantly 2-8 or 3-7 in SCC DIV.2 and that is a schedule anybody would take

DAVE K -A LITTLE HISTORY FOR YOU-3 GAMES IN THE EARLY 1920S WERE NOT COUNTED BECAUSE DERBY WAS ACCUSED OF USING ILLEGAL PLAYERS, ACCORDING TO THE HISTORY OF DERBY-SHELTON RIVALRY.COUPLE OF PLAYERS WERE ACTUALLY ENROLLED IN COLLEGE.YOU NEED ANY MORE INFO LET ME KNOW SON.
Hey Ray. I would like some more info: please tell us how many times Derby has beaten Shelton in the last 20 meetings?
P.S. Very interesting tidbit from yesteryear, but not terribly germane to the point the guys were trying to make above, namely, that Derby has not been competitive with Shelton in recent years.
