Because there’s supposed to be a bout of rain this weekend, we’ve already had a few postponements, (postponements on Wednesday?) so we’re bringing out the guide a little earlier.

Hand 42 West Haven 6 ,enough said.

  2. BigPoppa says:

I think Hand is in for a very tough time. West Haven is big, tough and fast. I know Hand is no pushover, but if they underestimate West Haven there will be some cryin’ in the cornflakes for Hand.
St. Joes and New Canaan will be a very good game. With their tenacity and battle experience against Staples and Darien, St. Joes comes out on top.

I have been watching West Haven football since late sixties and have been to many games at the Surf Club against Hand who I respect more than any team in CT.Hand should be favored in this game especially on wet field but dont think this is going to be 42-6 Hand. West Haven is fast and bigger than I have seen them since the 90s.My prediction is a 34-31 type game.Team with least turnovers wins.If Ervin has big night look out Hand

NC vs SJ is probably the best game to watch this week. Both two solid looking teams, and the winner might have a shot at the FCIAC title with a relatively easy rest of the year for both teams. I think NC has the edge, because in the lion king Scar (Nick Cascione) kiled Mufasa…

    35-28 NC

  5. fan07 says:

shocker of the year trumbull over staples 17-16

  6. mr fciac says:

wow Trumbull over Staples good luck keeping Staples under
30 in the first qtr will be a win for Trumbull

  7. The Dude says:

West Haven is talented enough to beat Hand. West Haven is also capable of losing to Hand by 40. Strange team, inconsistent at times. But at their best very good. I say West Haven 34-28 in a shocker.

I’m not sure what to think of New Canaan yet. But I do know in their history when their backs are against the wall they usually respond. With their schedule 2 losses in Class L will leave them cooked. I say New Canaan 35-30.

  8. HS Sports says:

@fan07 – a much improved team from the 1st game but not thinking this can happen – BTW hoping it does just to make all of this more interesting.

  9. No Ax To Grind says:

@fan07…I will take that bet…how about a steak dinner for the winner? I like Joseph’s.

  11. Dr. Von Nostran says:

If it comes down to an extra-point, does NC kick it this time?

  12. @Nostran – They’d have to, right? One loss?

  13. Dr. Von Nostran says:

Good point. That crazy game in 2010 was not only NC’s only loss, but their only regular season game within three scores.

  14. Brian says:

NC’s kicking game is not good. (see TC game). I would say Lou goes for 2!

  15. No Ax To Grind says:
