Walter Camp weighs in: Hand is No. 1

|

Hand has won the the Joseph R. Kelly Award for being the No. 1 team in the state, the Walter Camp Football Foundation announced Wednesday.

It’s no big surprise, since the Walter Camp Football Foundation goes along with the No. 1 vote in the NHR Poll.

The winner of the Kelly Award will be honored at the Walter Camp national awards banquet on January 12 at the Yale University Commons in New Haven alongside the All-America college team.

The Walter Camp Foundation will also announce its 2012 All-State team within a few weeks.

Carry on.

Being an FCIAC fan I would like to congratulate the Daniel Hand football team on being named the Walter Camp winner. Hand has always had a first class program. Win or lose, they do things the right way from the coaches , players and fans. This is a team the state of CT. should really be proud of. Congrats also to a great Ansonia team who year in and year out demonstrates the meaning of high school footall. Th people of Ansonia
