Pray For Newtown

I woke up Friday morning around 10 a.m., went to my computer and I had just written and was about to send a text message to Newtown coach Steve George, asking him who from his team we should consider for our all-star team, when Kory Brown of Brookfield rocked my Twitter feed with the awful news from Sandy Hook Elementary.

Nothing else to say, really. I feel like I’m in Newtown weekly during football season. Everyone there is part of our community. Our thoughts and prayers goes out to everyone there and especially the families affected by this terrible tragedy.

I have never felt more nauseous watching and listening to news reports.

That being said, as a high school football fan, I will attempt to put as positive a spin on the situation as possible.

    1. I am retroactively happy that Newtown was able to knock off Masuk this year.

    2. People in all communities will hopefully appreciate what they have a little bit more this holiday season. In the long run, the world may indeed become a better, more caring place because of this tragedy. At the time, though, most of us are still numb.

Great season SPB, thanks for helping me make it through the workdays!
