Xavier’s Boyle commits to UConn, updated signing day list

|

With National Signing Day just four days away, Xavier quarterback Tim Boyle announced Sunday he was switching his commitment from Boston College to UConn.

Boyle made the announcement on Twitter just as Super Bowl XLVII was kicking off in New Orleans.

The quarterback began rethinking his June commitment to Boston College after former coach Frank Spaziani was fired at the end of last season. When it became clear his value might change under new coach Steve Addazio, Boyle opened his recruitment up again.

He took an unofficial visit to UConn last week. Desmond Conner of the Courant caught up with Boyle after his announcent.

Here’s the updated recruiting list. National Signing Day is Wednesday.

    xavier players dropping off d-1 rosters like flies.those great players

    @gottalaff – at you!

    Graham Stewart played in all 12 games at FL & blocked a punt for TD at Gator Bowl vs. Ohio State. He has / had a family issue, so they asked that he come home. He asked – and was not granted – a HARDSHIP waiver from the NCAA.

    Tim Boyle backed out of his BC commitment because new coach runs read / option. He was OC at Florida when Tim Tebow was QB. He was going to go to Oregon, but Coach Kelly went to the Eagles. He’s a legit N-F-L prospect, not just D1.

    BTW – UConn, last I checked, IS a D1 program.

    Exactly WHO from X is “dropping off d-1 rosters” because it’s too hard? X grads play on Sundays, not just Saturdays.

    I think YOU need to go back to Lyman Hall – elementary that is.

    Another hater.

    So let me get this straight. Your saying Boyle couldnt play at BC because the coach rus the read option but he could go to Oregon with Chip Kelly???!!!! Huh ok. Maybe you havent watched a Oregon game, no way does that fit his skill set. Not even close.
