Reports: UConn’s Matt Cersosimo to take over for father at Conard

Matt Cersosimo has resigned his position as UConn’s defensive backs coach, the Hartford Courant and Manchester Journal-Inquirer reported Saturday night.

Cersosimo, a West Hartford native who had been with the Huskies for eight years is expected to take over for his father, Rob, the longtime coach at Conard-West Hartford, both papers reported.

Rob Cersosimo has been the coach at Conard since 1984 and has compiled a 182-112-3 record and five state playoff appearances. He was inducted into the Connecticut High School Coaches Hall of Fame in November.

Just like that no Posting of the job, no interviews. It must be nice….

No need for job posting Ballfoot. Hiring of Matt C ensures seemless transition from father’s uninspiring, outdated offense to son’s equally uninspiring and outdated UCONN model.

good move by rob. he’s a bright young coach with a young family. spending 18hrs a day in the uconn office can get old i imagine. best of luck!
