Greenwich High School football coach Rich Albonizio will be honored as one of the 2013 inductees to the Connecticut High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame at its 37th annual ceremony on Nov. 21 at the Aqua Turf in Southington at 7 p.m.
Albonizio is one of eight coaches that will be inducted into the Connecticut High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame. Since arriving at Greenwich High School, Albonizio has guided the Cardinals to three state championships and has compiled 155 victories. He also won a state championship while serving as the head coach at Trinity Catholic in 1993. Prior to taking over the helm at Greenwich, Albonizio gained 99 coaching victories while at Port Chester (N.Y.) High School and Trinity Catholic.
