Jordan Vazzano, St. Joseph Sr. QB: 29 of 25 for 379 yards and 5 TDs — including a 42-yard Hail Mary to Lars Pedersen on the game’s final play — in a 36-34 thriller over Fairfield Prep.

Nick Roberts, Trumbull QB: 21 of 32 passing for 286 yards and 3 TDs in 28-21 victory over Fairfield Warde.

Drew Tarantino, Newtown QB: Threw for 322 yards and 2 TDs, both in the second quarter, in 22-14 victory over Bethel.

Anferny Ith, Danbury QB: Passed for 152 yards amd 4 TDs — three to Ejijah Duffy and ran for 103 yards in 35-14 beating of Norwalk.

Silas Wyper, Darien QB: 19 of 31 for 229 yards and 2 TDs  — both to Nick Lombardo (6 catches, 96 yards) — in convincing 42-21 victory over Greenwich.

Nick Cascione, New Canaan QB: Threw 4 TDs passes — 17 and 65 yards to Jack Gilio, 31 yards to Cole Turpin and 8 yards to Carson Armstrong — in 42-20 victory over Bassick.,

Arkeel Newsome, Ansonia RB: 165 yards and 4 TDs on 9 carries in 54-6 rout of Sacred Heart. Had 2 additional TDs wiped out by penalties.

Robert Drysdale, Brookfield RB: Rushed for 251 yards and 3 TDs — 56,, 47 and 76 yards — on 12 carries in 34-21 win over Pomperaug.

Timmy Hinton, McMahon RB: 120 yards and the winning 21-yard TD run on 12 carries in 20-12 victory over Central.

Ervin Phillips, West Haven RB: 199 yards and 5 TDs and 23 carries to lead Westies over Foran 57-25.

D.J. Smith, Harding RB: 111 yards and 1 TD in 14-3 win over Stamford.

Justin Townsend, Bunnell RB: 123 yards and scoring runs of 52, 3 and 1 yards on 10 carries in 48-20 rout of Immaculate.

Jose Cotto, Bullard-Havens RB: 183 yards and a TD on 27 carries in a 24-0 victory over Abbott Tech.

GAME BREAKERS

Shane Miller and Lars Pedersen, St. Joseph WRs: Miller caught 11 passes for 180 yards and 3 TDs while Pedersen had six catches for 180 yards and 2 TDs, including the game-winner

Quentin Brunetti, Trumbull WR: Caught TD passes of 5 and 15 yards and caught a pair of 2-point conversion passes in win over Warde.

Mike McCourt, New Fairfield QB: Keyed a run of 26 unanswered points in the fourth quarter of a 46-25 victory over Oxford. Threw a 52-yard TD to Greg Radovic to give the Rebels the lead, then scored on a 7-yard run and a 100-yard interception return.

Peter Lummis, Weston: Six passes for 112 yards and a 34-yard TD from QB Erik Dammen-Brower and 48 yards and a 3-yard TD run on 15 carries as Weston rallied to beat Stratford 20-14.

Bobby Jacowleff, Staples DB: Interception at Wreckers’ 4-yard line helped preserve 14-7 victory over Wilton.

Darien defense: Scored on interceptions by William Hamernick (15 yards) and John Fischer (12 yards) and on John Reed’s 14-yard fumble return.

VALIANT IN DEFEAT

Mykel Morris, Central QB: Rushed for 171 yards and 2 TDs while completing 10 of 21 passes for 78 yards and 1 interception in 20-12 loss to McMahon

Jake Kasuba, Foran QB: 23 of 42 for 302 yards, 3 TDs and an interception in 57-25 loss to West Haven.

TJ Gallagher, Fairfield Warde RB: A pair of 82-yard TDs — the first on a catch-and-run that gave the Mustangs, the second on a kickoff return that gave the Mustangs a 21-20 lead — in a 28-21 loss to Trumbull.

    Barlow rushed for over 470 yards and shuts out New Milford bit gets no mention. How is that possible?

    How is it possible that Colton Smith is not in the Valiant in Defeat section? He couldn’t have played any better!
