GUNSLINGERS

Drew Tarantino, Newtown QB: Threw 6 passes on 21 of 32 for 406 yards in wild 39-36 victory over Barlow. Julian Dunn (36, 9, 9 yards) and Troy Frongione (28, 17, 24 yards) each caught 3 TD passes.

Michael Kreiger, Derby QB: 267 yards and 3 TDs passing and 121 yards and 1 TD rushing on 10 carries as Red Raiders (4-0 and hosting Ansonia on Friday) routed Crosby 34-7.

Nick Roberts, Trumbull QB: 16 of 25 for 228 yards and 3 TDs (33 and 28 yards to Tom Hayduk and 29 to Quintin Brunetti)  in 28-6 victory over Norwalk.

Nick Cascione, New Canaan QB: 3 TD passes (10, 25 and 38 yards) and a 6-yard TD run in 45-21 beating of Fairfield Warde.

Malik Cummings, Masuk QB: Passed for 169 yards and 2 TDs (23 and 62 yards to PJ Kokkoros) and ran for 70 more yards as the Panthers held on to beat Oxford 28-21.

Matt Marzulla, Greenwich QB: Junior’s starting debut was a success, completing 10 of 13 passes for 145 yards and a TD while running for 55 more yards in a 42-14 pasting of Trinity Catholic.

Anferny Ith, Danbury QB: Completed 15 passes for 189 yards and a TD and ran for 71 yards and a TD in 13-6 victory over Central.

BULLDOZERS

Joseph Salemme, Seymour RB: Racked up 240 yards rushing, including TD runs of 32, 1 and 35 yards, in 42-0 romp over Watertown.

Justin Townsend, Bunnell RB: Ran 34, 46 and 5 yards for TDs and finished with 138 yards rushing on 10 carries in 38-0 victory over Notre Dame-Fairfield.

Mufasha Abdul Basir, St. Joseph RB: Ran for 202 yards and 2 TDs (3 and 29 yards) as the unbeaten Cadets rallied to beat Darien 28-14.

Patrick Lesch, Staples RB: 264 yards and 3 TDs (runs of 1, 12 and 48 yards) in 41-14 defeat of Stamford.

Arkeel Newsome, Ansonia RB: 203 yards and 4 TDs (45, 14, 2 and 26 yards) in Chargers’ 47-14 defeat of Wilby. For the first time played into the third quarter, carrying twice for 39 yards and one of his TDs.

Mark Piccirillo, Shelton QB: Helped beat Foran 35-13 with his legs, running for 88 yards and 3 TDs (10, 1 and 4 yards).

Tommy Rappa, Greenwich RB: Paced a ground attack that amassed 294 yards against Trinity Catholic, running for 114 yard and 3 1-yard TD runs on 20 carries. Also caught a 15-yard screen pass from Marzulla for a TD.

Joe Piatnik, Bethel QB: Ran for 145 yards and 2 TDs (31, 42) in 42-20 victory over Pomperaug.

Robert Drysdale, Brookfield RB: 115 yards and TD runs of 12 and 5 yards in the firs thalf of 56-27 pounding of Immaculate.

GAME BREAKERS:

Tyrae Small, Derby: Ran 91 yards for a TD (totaled 150 on the ground in 15 tries) and caught a Kreiger pass for 35 yards and another score in victory over Crosby.

James Giannone, Bethel: Scored 3 TDs on an 87-yard kickoff return, a 17-yard run and a 20-yard interception return in victory over Pomperaug.

PJ Kokkoros, Masuk: 4 catches for 141 yards and 2 TDs in victory over Oxford. Rushed for 2 scores (4 and 5 yards) and threw for a 2-point conversion.

Nick Seis, Brookfield: Caught TD passes of 30 and 35 yards from Brad Westmark, recovered a fumble and had two sacks in victory over Immaculate.

Michael Arman, Ludlowe WR: Saw a ball bounce off his hands, bound off a falling defender before ricocheting off teammate Patrick O’Leary’s facemask and into his hands. Raced another 30 yards for a 66-yard TD that lifted the Falcons to a 35-31 win over Harding.

BRICK WALLS

Jack Mendillo, Staples: 2 interceptions for the Wreckers, whose defense allowed Stamford just 41 yards on 19 snaps in the second half after giving up a number of big plays early.

Kenneth Keen, McMahon: Interception after Westhill drove to the Senators’ 11-yard line in the final seconds preserved 21-15 victory.

Cole Gottlieb, Fairfield Ludlowe DL: 2 sacks, 3 tackles for losses in win over Harding.

VALIANT IN DEFEAT

Jack Shaban, Barlow QB: Ran for 3 TDs (10, 23 and 69 yards) and a 2-point conversion in loss to Newtown. Also had an interception on defense.

Wade Prajer, Pomperaug QB: Accounted for all of his team’s points in 42-20 loss to Bentel. Threw 2 TD passes and ran 15 yards for a third score. Completed 40 of 60 passes for 382 yards, including 269 in the first half.

Clifford Joseph, Norwalk RB: 136 yards rushing before leaving with an injured ankle in the fourth quarter.

Kyle Chudoba, Oxford QB: Threw for 211 yards and 3 TDs, all to Chris Vankamerik (8 catches, 122 yards) — 41, 23 and 33 yards.

Mykel Morris, Central QB: Ran for 171 yards and scored the Hilltoppers’ lone TD in a 13-6 loss at Danbury.

Reggie David, Harding RB/LB: 89-yard TD run, 1 sack, 2 tackles for losses in loss to Fairfield Ludlowe.
