GUNSLINGERS

Nick Cascione, New Canaan QB: 379 passing yards and 6 TDs to 5 different receivers and a 4-yard rushing TD in 62-21 rout of St. Joseph in a battle of unbeatens.

Jack Massie, Staples QB: TD passes of 35 and 29 yards to Will Johnson and a 29-yard rushing TD in 49-42 overtime victory over Trumbull. The 29-yarder to Johnson came on a 3rd-and-10 with 25 seconds left in regulation and the Wreckers trailing 42-35. That TD culminated a 72-yard drive that started with 1:24 left.

Jake Kasuba, Foran QB: 288 passing yards and 4 TDs in 61-21 rout of East Haven. Ran for another score.

Mark Piccirillo, Shelton QB: 235 passing yards and 2 TDs in 32-7 defeat of Hamden. Ran for 2 more scores.

Matt Ryan, New Milford QB: 4 TD passes — 45, 57, 57 and 44 (the last 2 to Nick Kimball) in 56-26 defeat of Notre Dame-Fairfield.

Andrew Tarantino, Newtown: 4 TD passes — 3 to Julian Dunn, the longest a 40-yarder — on 15-for-26 passing in 41-20 defeat of New Fairfield.

BULLDOZERS

Cooper Gold, Newtown RB: 178 yards and 2 TDs on 27 carries in win over New Fairfield.

D.J. Smith, Harding RB: 145 rushing yards and 2 TDs on 24 carries in 26-20 win over city rival Bassick. Also kicked 2 extra points.

Cameron Webb, Stamford: 126 yards on 14 carries in 21-15 victory over Trinity Catholic. Caught a 19-yard TD pass from Jalen Brown.

Nicholas Crowle, Fairfield Prep FB: 203 yards and 3 TDs (11, 7 and 4 yards) in 46-33 defeat of Amity.

Jack Shaban, Barlow QB: 161 rushing yards and 4 TDs (43, 33,16 and 15 yards) in 43-12 rout of Oxford.

Joe Salemme, Seymour RB: Ran for 208 yards and 4 TDs in 62-26 win over Crosby.

Tyreece Mitchell, Westhill RB: 157 yards on 19 carries in 23-22 win over Danbury.

Bobby Drysdale, Brookfield RB: 176 yards rushing and 5 TDs — including a 52-yarder — in Bobcats’ 49-20 victory over Weston.

AJ McDonald, New Milford: 3 short TD runs and a 57-yard score on a pass from QB Matt Ryan in win over ND.

GAME BREAKERS

Arkeel Newsome, Ansonia: In action for just a quarter and half in a 41-7 rout of Watertown, scored 3 TDs: a 79-yard punt return and runs from scrimmage of 7 and 84 yards. Finished with 103 rushing yards on just 4 carries.

Teammate Jai’Quan McKnight returned the opening kickoff 85 yards for a TD and threw a 42-yard TD pass to Saheed Sanders.

Austin Longi, Greenwich: 4 TDs in a 61-24 pasting of Central: TD runs of 25, 18 and 5 yards and a 73-yard kickoff return. Rushed for 89 yards on just 8 carries.

P.J. Kokkoros, Masuk: 213 all-purpose yards and 3 TDs (2 receiving, 1 running) in 42-13 victory over Stratford. Caught 6 passes for 159 yards, and rushed 54 yards on 5 carries. Added a 2-point conversion run.

Colton Smith, Fairfield Prep QB: 359 total yards in win over Amity.  222 rushing yards and 3 TDs (13, 59 and 56 yards) on 9 carries. 137 passing yards and a TD (83 yards to Joe DelliSanti).

Kentrell Snider, McMahon: Returned a kickoff 83 yards for a TD, ran for 2 scores and caught a pass for another score in 41-7 rout of Fairfield Ludlowe.

Evan Skoporantzos, Westhill WR: Caught TD passes of 16 and 10 yards from QB Ryan Coppola in the final 2:30 to rally the Vikings over Danbury.

Griffin Ross, Darien WR: 15 catches for 157 yards and 2 TDs from QB Silas Wyper in 40-14 beating of Wilton.

Michael Pingree, Shelton WR: 6 catches for 141 yards and 2 TDs in win over Hamden.

BRICK WALLS

New Canaan defense: 2 interceptions and 2 fumble recoveries made life miserable for St. Joseph’s offense. DL Connor Buck rumbled 56 yards with fumble after Cole Harris stripped Cadets QB Jordan Vazzano.

Rigerson Gelin, Stamford CB: Interception with 49 seconds left preserved victory over Trinity Catholic.

Eris Hall, Harding LB: Returned interception 72 yards for a TD in win over Bassick.

VALIANT IN DEFEAT

Marc Cesare, Trumbull RB: 244 yards and all six of his team’s TDs  on 38 carries in overtime loss to Staples.

Courtlyn Victrum, Trinity Catholic RB: 153 yards and a 12-yard TD run on 25 carries for the freshman in 21-15 loss to Stamford.

Mykel Morris, Central QB: 101 yards on 14 carries in 61-24 loss to Greenwich. Threw 79-yard TD pass to Keyshawn Thomas.

Jihad Whitaker, Bassick RB: 128 yards and 2 TDs on 10 carries in 26-20 loss to Harding.

Joe Ziebell, Law RB: 145 yards and 2 TDs on 23 carries in 63-28 loss to Guilford.

Jordan LaRue, Derby WR: 7 catches for 118 yards and a score in 54-27 loss to Wolcott. Returned a kickoff 90 yards for a TD.

Norlan Aurelia, Bunnell QB: 326 yards and 3 TDs passing in 38-23 loss to Pomperaug.

    I’m pretty sure that the New Milford QB was Tyler Hansen, not Matt Ryan.
