It’s been a pretty eventful week in Cape Coral and I’m sorry to say none of it was good news.
First, republican presidential candidate Fred Thompson rode into town to do a li’l’ campaigning in this notorious red state.
Later, a whirlwind in the name of the Naples Golden Eagles football team came to Cape Coral and used a dominating third quarter to turn a 13-0 halftime lead into a 41-0 thrashing of the local Cape Coral Seahawk football team.
Then, on Sunday, actual tornadoes ripped through the town doing some pretty major damage.
(I almost wish I could have been there just so I could hear Senator Thompson, with a cigar in his hand, scream to no one in particular while surveying tornado damage, “This business will get out of control. It will get out of control and we’ll be lucky to live through it!” like he did in the “Hunt for Red October”).
