Walking on the sidewalk, hotter than a match head

It was hot last night; hot and crowded.  It was rare to see an empty sidewalk downtown with the Alive@Five concert series packing it in to Columbus Park but I rounded the corner at Summer St. and this scene caught my eye.  I nearly missed it as sweat dripped into that same eye and my camera clouded up from the heat.  But I managed to snap off a few frames before seeking refuge in an air conditioned restaurant.  Hot town, summer in the city.

Commencing

Graduates prepare to participate in the Commencement Exercises at AITE in Stamford, Conn. on Wednesday June 23, 2010.  The graduation season is winding down tonight in our city as Westhill and Stamford High send their graduates off into the world in back to back ceremonies.  Add the opening night of Alive@Five into the mix and it makes for a crowded, busy night here in Stamford.  Enjoy and plan accordingly.

Man’s best friend

I love this event!  As if the dogs weren’t enough to provide unlimited photographs, the spectators, owners and handlers offer a whole new breed of opportunities.  It’s a visual overload.
