The 2011 graduating class of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy prepare for the graduation ceremony in New London on Wednesday. President Obama delivered the commencement address at the event. Read the story: HERE
I spent the day with Governor Malloy and his staff for a story to run later this year and I could not have picked a better day to tag along. Witnessing these young men and women stepping up to receive their diplomas and shake hands with President Obama is something I will never forget. Well worth the 5:15am wake-up call.

Fiddleheads at the Stamford Museum and Nature Center’s farmer’s market offer proof that Spring is in full swing. Available only for a few weeks, fiddleheads are unfurled ferns that grow in the wild and are harvested for use as vegetables. They are popular for both their taste and their antioxidants.

Career Day’s don’t offer the best photo opportunities so I was pleasantly surprised to see this dog tagging along with the veterinarian. It made my job a lot easier.
